Equipment Request

 

Available through the Equipment Request button from within the Add Local Service screen, this dialog allows you to specify the anticipated quantity of equipment needed for a specific service. This information assists a dispatcher in making the correct equipment and supply assignments to a service. This data is informational only and is also referenced by functionality such as Capacity Planning and Job Costing.

The Requested Quantity sets a default for equipment resource assignments through Local Services if the type associated has the Dispatch based on quantity flag set. The default is applied to equipment resources automatically through the Auto Assign to Service option and it visible through the Reserve Equipment screen.

 

Note: This feature is linked with the “Auto assign quantities when service is cleared” flag present at the Equipment Type Setup screen. When the flag is checked, the quantities requested through this screen will get auto assigned to all the associated services or plans cleared through the Requested Services screen.

 

To enter values for the corresponding role, simply click in the column and enter a number.

 

Values set within this screen display under the Equipment Requirements section within the Local Service Quick View.

 

The following table describes the fields and functions available within this dialog.

 

Field/Function

Description

Shipper Name

The name of the shipper displays. The application retrieves this information from the Last Name/Company Name and First Name/MI field set within the Name, Address, Phone tab.

 

Office & Industrial

For Office & Industrial orders, the Last Name/Company Name and First Name fields set within the Contacts and Locations tab displays.

Clear Grid Values

Press this button to remove values for all quantity fields.

Equipment Type

The application displays the type of equipment available (from Equipment Type Setup). For each anticipated type, enter the number of items requested.

The Dispatch based on quantity flag set for the type through Equipment Type Setup instructs the application to dispatch the Requested Quantity as a default for the service when equipment assignments are made in Local Dispatch through the Reserve Equipment function.

Requested Quantity

Provide the desired number of items for a particular type. Refer to the notes on Equipment Type (above) for more information on usage.

Save

Press Save keeps all changes made and closes the dialog.

Cancel

Pressing Cancel reverts any changes made and closes the dialog.
