Customer Settings

 

Collection managers have access to the Customer Settings functionality where they can assign a collector and alert group to a customer as well as update credit limit and contact information.

 

Customer Settings is available through Workflow (AR Credit & Collections).

 

 

 

Changes made to the credit limit and contacts reflect in Microsoft Dynamics GP.

 

The following table describes the fields and functions available within this screen.

 

Field/Function

Description

Collections Settings

 

Collector

Select a collector from the available list to be responsible for customer correspondence.  An option value of “No Collector” is available for unassigned customers.

User are able to select a particular collector through the Collector field within Alerts/Tasks.  Only customers assigned to the particular collector display in the Workflow (AR Credit & Collections) tab.

Collectors are active employees with a Labor Type of “Collector.”  See the AR Credit & Collections Setup and Administration for details.

The Collector and Alert Group values can be automatically set based on custom class through the Setup Customer By Class setup.

Credit Limit Type

The type set can be one of the following:

 

No Credit

Select this option if the customer has no amount of credit with the company.

 

Unlimited

Select this option if the customer has no limit on the amount of credit available to them on the part of the company.

 

Amount

Select this option if the customer has the dollar amount specified in the Credit Limit field credit available.

 

Note: MoversSuite recommends setting the Credit Limit Type through Microsoft Dynamics GP.

 

Alert Group

Associate the customer to a specific category of alert qualifiers established within Alert Setup.

 

Note: All customers link automatically to a default alert group.  Setting this field will override this default. 

 

The Collector and Alert Group values can be automatically set based on custom class through the Setup Customer By Class setup.

Credit Limit

This is the dollar amount of credit granted to the customer when the Credit Limit Type is “Amount.”

Setting the Credit Limit to a zero dollar amount will set the Credit Limit Type to “No Credit.”

 

Note: Alters can trigger off this value.  See the Alert Criterion and Alert Setup for more information.

Customer Contact Information

Add

This function opens the Add Customer Contact screen allowing the user to define a new contact for the customer account.

 

IMPORTANT:

Changes made to contacts are not permanent until Save is pressed.

Edit

This function opens the Add Customer Contact screen in edit mode allowing the user to update an existing customer contact.

 

Save

This function saves all changes made, including those made to the contacts.

 

IMPORTANT:

Changes made to contacts are not permanent until Save is pressed.

 

Cancel

Cancel discards all changes made to the customer settings including adding and editing of contacts.
