Local Dispatch Setup and Administration

 

The following table lists the setup areas that affect Local Dispatch and Local Services functionality.

 

Setup Area

Description

Branch Setup

Create common groups of branches to be worked on collectively through the Dispatching Common View. Associating branches to the same Dispatching Common View value link them together so that when a single branch is selected through the Service Branch field in Local Dispatch services for all linked branches also display and can be managed.

Set the default Hours Drive One Way value in Add Local Service for each branch assignment. Refer to the Local Service Default Drive Time field description within Branch Setup for more information.

Containerization Status Setup

Define the status values assignable to an eligible service through Right-Click Options (Local Dispatch).

Difficulty Factor Setup

Define factors to be used to adjust the difficulty of a service assignment. 

Email Options Setup

Set up order personnel to receive email notification upon an order event, such as when a Dispatch Status change occurs.

Equipment Documents Setup

Define and categorize documents displaying for equipment resources.

Equipment Setup

Assignable resources must be defined within this setup area.

Labor Type Setup

Define the roles available to assign to personnel through Assign Crew and related functionality. These types determine what role the person partakes on services, such as a mover, packer, driver, etc. and affect as well.

Labor Types are assigned through Personnel Setup.

Local Dispatch Status Setup

Define status values that can be assigned through the Dispatch Center to services.  The status values can also be used to send email updates to key personnel (see Email Options Setup for details).

Local Service Classification Setup

Define the Classification values assignable to Local Service Type Setup and to Local Service Classification GL Map Setup records. The Classification is an informational setting referenced through MoversSuite Data Views. It is also utilized by the Crew Punch Integration. Refer to the Crew Punch Integration Setup topic for details.

Local Service Type Setup

Define the Local Services requests available for each branch. The service type also provides information needed to calculate crew and hours for service assignments. These records are assignable to services through the Add Local Service screen. It is also utilized by the Crew Punch Integration. Refer to the Crew Punch Integration Setup topic for details.

Local Service Unit Type Setup

Establish types to support calculating anticipated crew and hour needs for as service. These records are assignable to Local Service Type Setup records through the Units field.

Personnel Documents Setup

Establish groups and types needed to categories documents added to driver and crew records.

Personnel Setup

Use this setup to assign the person Labor Types (roles), set their Status, date or hire, and more on the General tab; set branch access through the Branch tab; link the employee to external interfaces using the Interface Mapping tab; define hours of availability, assign driver number and van line affiliate and more through the Dispatch tab; set safety data and events through the Safety tab; define the person as commissionable through the Accounting tab; and define the criteria that the employee receives advances through the Advance tab.

Safety System

Establish crew and equipment safety records.

Service Type Group Setup

Define the reporting groups needed to consolidate data under for assigned Local Service Type Setup records.

System Wide Options

Establish a Service Start Time and First Day of the Week for crew assignment calculations. Additionally, enable auto dispatching of services downloaded from a van line and enable the driver division option through this setup.

User Setup

Define key personnel including dispatchers, coordinators, crew, etc., and set appropriate security.  Refer to the following specific topics:
