Sales Team Split

You can split the commission of a salesperson by utilizing a Sales Team Split to allocate a certain percentage of the salesperson’s commission to one or more Commissionable Employees.

Enable Sales Team Split functionality through settings within Account Profile Setup and Labor Type Setup. Define the eligible Salesperson through the Order Defaults tab within Account Profile Setup. The split is based on the commission this person receives.

Also, define those receiving the split based on which role (Labor Type) they participate under and the percentage they receive through the Sales Team Split section (also on the Order Defaults tab). Utilize the Add Sales Team Split dialog when adding or editing a split commission.

You must enable the labor types eligible for the split commission by setting the Is Sales Team Type flag for each supported Labor Type Setup record.

The following must also be in place for each participant on the Sales Team to receive a commission:

Each member of the Sales Team must be one of your Commissionable Employees,

Item Code of commissioned revenue must be linked to each Sales Team member’s Commission Plan (Commission Plan Setup), and

Each Sales Team member must be assigned to the branch receiving revenue that the commission is based upon (Branch tab within their Personnel Setup record), i.e. they must be assigned to the order under the role (Labor Type) specified within the Sales Team Split options.

When commissions generate, either automatically or manually, the Sales Team Split occurs automatically. In the example below (Figure 13), Heather’s commission amount of $350.00 is split between two employees on the order: An OA Surveyor and the Coordinator for a total of $12.25.

Adjustments can be made to the split commissions utilizing the add, edit, and delete features within the Add Revenue Commission and through the Add Split Commission dialogs.
