A Single Document Interface (SDI) was implemented in Microsoft Dynamics GP so windows are independent, which enables “alt+tab” sequencing of desktop windows. This provides for additional flexibility to those users who frequently have multiple windows open within the application.

Because of this change, the application menu bar commands were added to the windows within the application, along with user, company, and date information.  This was necessary for a number of reasons. For example, since windows could be open from multiple companies, users will need a way to identify what company is being accessed from an individual window.
