ADP Integration Common Errors

 

This section lists the common errors you may encounter when transmitting punch activity to ADP through the Export Punches to Payroll screen. The Type indicates Validation if the error occurs prior to sending information to ADP and indicates Response when the error is returned from the ADP system. Refer to the ADP Integration and Export Punches to Payroll topics for usage information.

 

 

Error:

ADP connection information could not be loaded from the MoversSuite database. System error: <system error message>

Type:

Resolution:

For this error, the "<system error message>" is an error produced by the system, which could be one of many things. The system error message may help identify the problem.

 

Error:

Unable to send the time punches to ADP because an error that occurred while accessing the ADP API: the certificate loaded for the ADP Xml System Credential in MoversSuite Administration is invalid.

Type:

Resolution:

An invalid certificate was set up for ADP in Administration. The following needs to be set up in Administration:

 

From Administration, go to Administration > Xml System screen > choose ADP. From the Credentials tab, click the Load SSL Certificate button and Save. to add the valid SSL certificate that was signed by ADP. The certificate file will have a .pfx extension.

 

Error:

Unable to send the time punches to ADP because an error that occurred while accessing the ADP API: <system error message>

Type:

Resolution:

For this error, the "<system error message>" is an error produced by the system, which could be one of many things. The system error message may help identify the problem.

 

 

Error:

Unable to send the time punches to ADP because no credentials were found for the ADP Xml System in MoversSuite Administration.

Type:

Resolution:

ADP credentials were not set up in Admin. In Admin, do the following setup:

 

ADP Terminal must be set up:

For each branch that you want to export time punches for, in Administration > Branch > Interface Branch Option, there needs to be an option of type "ADP Terminal" set up for the branch.

 

ADP Certificate must be set up:

On the Administration > XML System screen, expand the ADP record and click the "Load SSL Certificate" button to add an SSL certificate that was signed by ADP.

 

User ID must be set up:

On the Administration > XML System screen, expand the ADP record and set the User ID field to the Client ID that is needed to call ADP's token endpoint to get an authentication token. This is provided by ADP.

 

Password must be set up:

On the Administration > XML System screen, expand the ADP record and set the Password field to the Client ID that is needed to call ADP's token endpoint to get an authentication token. This is provided by ADP.

Error:

Unable to send the time punches to ADP because ADP terminal was not set up for the selected branch in MoversSuite Administration.

Resolution:

The ADP Terminal must be set up. For each branch that you want to export time punches for, from Administration, go to Administration > Branch > choose the Branch. From Click here to add new Interface Branch Option, click +. In the Option Type field, choose ADP Terminal.  See Step 6 in ADP Integration Setup for more details.

 

 

Error:

Unable to send the time punches to ADP because ADP username (client ID) was not specified on the Xml System Credential for the ADP Xml System in MoversSuite Administration.

Resolution:

The User ID must be set up. From Administration, go to Administration > Xml System > choose the ADP. From the Credentials tab, set the User ID field to the Client ID that is needed to call ADP's token endpoint to get an authentication token. This is provided by ADP. See Step 4 in ADP Integration Setup for more details.

 

Error:

Unable to send the time punches to ADP because ADP certificate was not specified on the Xml System Credential for the ADP Xml System in MoversSuite Administration.

Error:

Unable to send the time punches to ADP because ADP password (client secret) was not specified on the Xml System Credential for the ADP Xml System in MoversSuite Administration.

Resolution:

A Password must be set up. From Administration, go to Administration > XML System > ADP. From the Credentials tab, set the Password field to the Client Secret that is needed to call ADP's token endpoint to get an authentication token. This is provided by ADP.
