This topic enlists the setup steps needed prior to running the Sales Commission Hold Management feature.
STEP 1: Turn on the Security Module
The foremost step for using the Sales Commission Hold Management feature is to turn on the
“Sales Commission Hold Management” security module. It is turned off by default and turning it on will make the Sales Commission Hold Management option visible in the Accounting Tools Menu. Also, running the Microsoft Dynamics GP API is a prerequisite for using Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting feature.
STEP 2: Turn on the “Automatically Place New Sales Commissions on Hold Flag”
To place sales commissions on hold through the Sales Commission Hold Management feature, turning on the Automatically Place New Sales Commissions on Hold Flag is a prerequisite. You can locate the flag in the System Wide Options under the Administration category of your MoversSuite Admin. Any commissions that are generated when this flag is off, will never appear in the new Sales Commission Hold Management screen.
NOTE: Storage billing can be automatically placed on hold to provide a means for managers to review commissions before funds are released. Auto Commissions must be turned on along with having the Sales commission Hold Setup enabled.
However, you can place/remove holds manually through your Microsoft Dynamics GP account.
STEP 3: Personnel Setup
The only sales commissions that are subject to this feature must be applicable to the ‘Sales’ labor type and that are generated via Revenue Entry. For this purpose, make sure that the associated personnel have a Labor Type Item of “Sales” attached to them, through the ‘General’ tab of Personnel Setup.
Also, only the Branches assigned through the ‘Branch’ tab of Personnel Setup will be available while you filter the records in the Sales Commission Hold Management feature.
STEP 4: Microsoft Dynamics GP Posting
It is mandatory to have the master posting done inside Microsoft Dynamics GP to change the on-hold status. Doing both operations simultaneously (master posting and doing Sales Commission hold management) is not supported.
