This topic covers establishing and managing support for the MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application.
MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application Setup
The following information provides instructions on setting up the MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application.
Setting up the MoversSuiteCrew application involves the following generalized steps, with detailed information on each step in the sections following this list.
1. Provide information from the New Mobile Customer Checklist and garner feedback from EWS Group
2. Create forwarding rule or gateway policy on your firewall router to allow communication through a single port from MoversConnect
3. Update MoversSuite administrative settings
4. Setup mobile users
5. Download the app and test
STEP 1: Complete Checklist
Contact EWS Group and complete the New Mobile Customer Checklist that is sent to you. You can review the information contained in the mail through the New Mobile Customer Checklist topic.
STEP 2: Create Port Forwarding Rule or Gateway Policy
Create a port forwarding rule or gateway policy for your internal IP address to allow web traffic through the firewall on the server hosting the MoversSuite API Service. The forwarding rule or gateway policy grants communications through a single port for MoversConnect. The rule or policy needs to specify your internal IP address and available port to allow forwarding through the MoversConnect address of 104.45.221.191 using the same port as what you specify as your internal port.
STEP 3: Update MoversSuite Administrative Settings
The following table lists the setup areas affected by the MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application. Go through each setup area and make necessary additions and changes. If you plan to allow mobile device users to change their own password, then additional setup is documented within the Mobile Password Reset topic.
Setup |
Description |
Define the values available to identify crew time activities for MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application users. Managers and users use these descriptions to accurately reflect the Crew Time activities. The values set here are also assignable to crew through the Crew tab within the Enter Actuals screen.
The Mobile Api Setup is utilized by the Mobile API to establish the primary login information and global settings for your MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application account. Most of the information is established for your company by EWS Group, however, you can review and update these settings. You will also use this setup to verify and synchronize all mobile data with MoversConnect. This includes changes made to Personnel Setup records. For example, if you add a Mobile User, then you need to access this setup and choose Verify/Synchronize all mobile data with MoversConnect.
Use this setup to provide company logo to display on documents and other usages within the MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application. The logo appears in the heading of the following: MoversSuiteCrew Internal Summary
| |
The Mobile User Log is a tool allowing you to pull and view logs generated for MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application users through MoversConnect. This helps identify which users are logging in and utilizing the mobile application.
If you wish personnel to receive an email when errors appear in the MoversConnect Log, then enter their information under the MoversConnect Email Recipient section (Add MoversConnect Email Recipient). You can also set the default workday hours by setting the Work Time Start and Work Time End times. Once you make any changes within any tab of this setup, you can press Restart Api Service to send those changes out to all devices.
Refer to the Restart Api Service for additional information.
Personnel within MoversSuite can edit and approve punch activity through the Mobile Crew Time screen. This screen performs the same function as the MoversSuiteCrew Crew Time does but is integrated within the MoversSuite application, allowing personnel such as dispatchers and clerks to approve time. Update profiles to grant access to the Mobile Crew Time module for branches that support the mobile application. Only services for branches that have security access to this module (or are part of a branch’s Dispatching Common View) show in the available Branch selector within the Mobile Crew Time screen. To Add Punches in a branch, a Security Profile must be assigned to the Mobile Crew Time module.
Phone types you wish available within the MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application must have a Mobile App Phone Type Name associated to their record.
Branches you wish to be available within the Add Punches screen, must have a Time Zone associated to them. |
STEP 4: Setup Mobile Users
For each person you wish to access the MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application, open their Personnel Setup record, open the Mobile User tab, and provide User ID, Password (optionally, you can leave blank and enable Mobile Password Reset functionality), and Mobile User Type.
NOTE: Saving changes here automatically verifies and synchronizes the Mobile User information within MoversConnect (same function as pressing the Verify/Synchronize all mobile data with MoversConnect button within the Mobile Api Setup).
IMPORTANT: If you change a password through the Mobile User tab, you must evoke the Change Password function within Mobile Api Setup. This function synchronizes the password within MoversConnect.
You can also link a photo to a MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application user through the Personnel Profile Picture Setup. This image is referenced by the MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application as a means of visual identification for the person. NOTE: Mobile application users also have the means of uploading profile pictures (images) through their devices.
Refer to the Mobile Password Reset topic for details on enabling the ability to allow crew to reset their own password through their mobile device.
STEP 5: Download the App and Test
Once crew is setup for the mobile application, instruct them to download the application and test. The application is available through the Apple app store and lists under MSCrew. You can find a direct link to this application through the MoversSuiteCrew Mobile Application topic.
To log into the MSCrew application, users need to know the following:

The Company ID is provided to you by EWS Group. It lists within the Mobile Api Setup, as well.

These credentials are established for each crew person within the Mobile User tab within Personnel Setup.
