Use this setup to define the format of claim numbers generated for new Claims records.

 

Field

Description

Description

Provide a name to the claim number record (up to 128 characters). Users will select these records as options within Claim Type Setup.

Prefix

Enter the static prefix of the claim number (up to 4 characters).

Minimum

Enter the beginning or starting claim number for each year.

Maximum

Enter the highest number that a claim number can reach in a given year.

Year Length

Enter one of the following values to indicate how the year will display in the claim number. Set this field to a value of 0 to display no year. The following table illustrates the five options available for a claim number beginning with “CLM-99.”

Next Year

This field displays the upcoming year used in the claim number format. The application automatically sets this value after initial setup.

Current Year

This field displays the current year used in the claim number format. The application automatically sets this value after initial setup.

Regarding the following two fields, users can setup ranges of sequence numbers based on the format. For example, if a particular Claim Number record exists for household goods a particular starting sequence number can begin at 1 while another record starts at 500, and so on.

Next Number in Sequence (Current Year)

Displayed is the next number in the number sequence for the current year. The application updates this field automatically.

Next Year Next Number (Next Year)

Displayed is the next number in the number sequence for the following year. The application updates this field automatically.
