Technical Field and Function Data

The following table describes the fields and functions available within this dialog.

Field/Function

Description

Service Provider Name

Provide the name of the cell phone service provider that you wish to process text message for certain MSCrew users (up to 50 characters), i.e. AT&T Wireless. The values entered here are assignable to MSCrew users through the Mobile User tab within Personnel Setup users.

Disable SMS via Email

Check this flag to not attempt to send a password reset through email using an appropriate gateway (SMS Domain Name specified below). When checked, the password reset can only occur through a direct text message. If unchecked, then either option may be available (based on additional settings described within Mobile Password Reset).

Short Message Service (SMS) Domain Name

Enter the domain of the service provider for exchanging text message through email (up to 50 characters), e.g., txt.att.net. This setting is considered a “gateway” for cell providers to accept email via a cell phone. For example, if a mobile user’s cell phone is 970-256-1616 and the SMS domain is txt.att.net, then the password reset information through an email would be through 9702561616@txt.att.net.

Note: Source of available SMS providers is available through the internet by searching for “SMS gateways.”

Test Provider

Utilize this option to send and verify a text message via email through the service provider. Pressing this button opens the Send Test SMS Message dialog allowing you to enter in the cell number, message, and to process the request.

SQL Server Database Mail must be setup and must reference a profile defined within the SQL Server Email Provider through MoversConnect or reference the default MoversSuite profile established for the SQL Server to be able to send email through SMS gateways. Note: The name of the established email profile displays within the Send Test SMS Message dialog.
