Dispatchers can auto assign crew through the Assign Crew grid in Local Dispatch. Dispatchers can double-click on an individual employee or select multiple crew members and choose the right-click option of Auto Assign to Service.

The application auto assigns the person based on their default role, which is defined as the Labor Type in Personnel Setup with the Default flag set; this assumes that the default Labor Type is available to Local Dispatch, i.e. the Available to Local Dispatch flag is set for the Labor Type Setup record. If you attempt to auto assign a person that has no default type set and multiple Labor Types for Local Dispatch, then the Assign Crew screen appears prompting you to select the appropriate role.
