Use the Send Test SMS Message function to verify that the established email database profile can process an email message via cell phone through the cell service provider. This function is available by pressing Test Provider for a Cell Phone Service Provider Setup record.

Test the service provider and related SQL Server email profile by providing the cell number and text message and by pressing Send Test Message. The Status informs you of what fields are missing and whether the message was sent. Confirm the results of the test by checking the device associated to the Phone Number for receipt of the specified message.

The name of the cell service company providing the text message transmission displays. |
Phone Number |
Provide a test phone number to receive the Test Message. You will use the device associated to this phone to verify the results of the test. |
Test Message |
Provide a brief message to assist in verifying that the message was successfully sent – verifying that an email message can be sent through the SQL Server specified and through the cell service to the test phone. |
Send Test Message Press this button to process the test. | |
